The Prime Minister's Export Award was originated in 1992 by former Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun to honour and encourage exporters who have continually exported good quality products. For Pranda, the Best Thai Exporter Award is testimony to the company's consistent development in the quality standards of it's products to meet the growing demand from ever-expanding overseas markets.

The Prime Minister's Export Award is the highest award of honor to recognize the best Thai exporters, who guarantee the quality and design of their products in the world market. The Export Promotion Department announced the award winners in three categories below. Gold Card
2000: Pranda Jewelry Plc., received Gold Card.
The Gold Card is the certificate indicating that the company is reliable, widely accepted and has financial stability. This project is launched by the Customs Department with the major objective to enable all qualified companies to pass the customs formalities through the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system more conveniently and quickly.

About the import privileges, all of Gold Card awardees are approved to pass the green line of the EDI system. They are not required to submit any documents for the Customs Formalities Department to check. The manifest will be approved after the goods are cleared through the customs formalities. Moreover, they have not to be checked. The export privilege is also approved. The tax will be refunded or compensated immediately after the application is submitted. More privileges will also be granted for them in the future as approved by the Director General of the Customs Department. BMA certified to guarantee food hygiene for employees

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has recently certified Pranda Jewelry Plc., as a company to meet the standard in providing food hygiene in clean physical environment for employees on the premises. The awarding unit was the Food Hygiene Sub-division of Environmental Health Division at the Health Department of BMA.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has The responsibility to provide for public health and hygiene, hence has launched the campaign to certify the industry and food providers who meet the criteria to ensure that employees and customers have choices of quality meals out of their own homes. The qualified industry and vendors will receive a certificate as incentive to draw larger customers. The certification for exporters who meet the standard of protection:

Pranda Jewelry Plc., has recently received the certification for exporters who meet the standard of protection for young workers and women labour. The award which was organised to draw public and international attention to the fact that The Thai Export Industry was well aware of the need to establish a standard of practice and to motivate employers to ensure proper and legal care of their workers.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare has set up a department of Welfare and Labour Protection to inspect the working conditions of women and young workers. This is to meet the concerns of many importers in the USA and Europe about human rights issues from some Asian manufacturers. And to provide audit trails for activities related to this program Certificate of White Factory Programme:

The Department of Social Welfare and Labour Protection initiated the "White Factory Programme" to encourage all business Enterprises to prevent the use, sale and the production of narcotics in their workplace. To ensure the effectiveness of this program the participating factories must comply with the following criteria. World Competition Award:
1999 : Pranda's staff win a Bronze Medal from the 35th International Skill Competition at Montreal, Canada.
2001 : Pranda's staff win a Bronze Medal from the 36th International Skill Competition at Seoul, South Korea.

The international Skills Competition (Skills Olympic) involves skilled professional youths from 5 continents and was first held in 1950 in Madrid, Spain. The following competitions were held every two years. The purpose of our participation is to make known to the world the genuine skill of Thai craftsmen, to expose them to the world competitiveness in their profession, and to exchange information and ideas with world colleagues.
