Bilateral Education Program – Gem and Jewelry

The gems and jewelry industry is one of Thailand’s key economic sectors and a major contributor to national export revenues. Developing skilled professionals—particularly highly trained artisans with specialized craftsmanship—is therefore essential to strengthening the industry’s long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth.

With extensive experience and accumulated expertise in gems and jewelry manufacturing, the Company recognizes the important role that the private sector can play in supporting the development of the country’s human capital. The Company therefore established the Vocational Education Promotion Program under the Bilateral Education Project to enhance professional skills in jewelry craftsmanship while expanding educational opportunities for Thai youth.

In 2000, the Company entered into a collaboration with Kanchanapisek College of Goldsmiths to offer a Vocational Certificate Program  in Gems and Jewelry, following the curriculum of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission under the Ministry of Education. The program integrates classroom learning at educational institutions with practical training in the workplace, enabling students to develop hands-on skills that align with the needs of the industry.

The Company has subsequently expanded its collaboration to additional educational institutions, including Suranaree Technical College, in order to broaden access to educational opportunities for youth from various regions across Thailand and to systematically develop skilled talent for the gems and jewelry industry.

This initiative reflects the Company’s commitment to sustainable business practices by integrating community and social development with its human capital strategy and business continuity approach. The program contributes to positive social impact, helps mitigate the risk of skilled labor shortages, and creates long-term shared value for stakeholders. It is aligned with the principles of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), particularly in the areas of Social Capital and Human Capital Development, by promoting access to education, advancing vocational skills, and creating economic opportunities for society.

In addition, the Company places strong emphasis on the quality of learning. Practical training in jewelry craftsmanship is delivered by the Company’s highly experienced master craftsmen who serve as instructors and have completed a 30-hour trainer certification program in accordance with the requirements of the vocational education authorities. This ensures that knowledge transfer is conducted with high quality standards and remains aligned with the evolving needs of the labor market.

Through this program, the Company not only contributes to the development of the next generation of skilled professionals in the gems and jewelry industry, but also supports the sustainable growth of the industry while creating long-term shared value for society.
