Advancing Thailand’s Gem and Jewelry Industry Towards a Sustainable Future
Bangkok – Mr. Prida Tiasuwan, Founder Chairman of Pranda Jewelry Public Company Limited, was invited to deliver a keynote address at the 8th International Gem and Jewelry Conference (GIT 2025), organized by the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT). His speech, titled “Towards a Sustainable Future for the Thai Gem and Jewelry Industry,” reflected Thailand’s prominent role as both a knowledge hub and a global leader in the gem and jewelry sector.
In his address, Mr. Prida highlighted the urgent challenges of climate change, posing the critical question: “Can Sustainability Fix Climate Change?” He pointed to visible consequences such as rising sea levels, extreme heatwaves, and threats to food security, emphasizing that sustainable development is essential to achieving balance, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing the resilience of both economies and societies.
He further championed the concept of a Responsible Gem & Jewelry Supply Chain as a pathway to long-term growth. This approach focuses on efficient resource utilization, effective waste management, fostering innovation, and ensuring collaboration across all stakeholders to create harmony between economic progress, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
Concluding his keynote, Mr. Prida left the audience with an enduring message:
“A brand can truly win people’s hearts only when it demonstrates genuine awareness and responsibility in protecting and preserving the environment.”
