During the recently held World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) Congress in Jaipur, India, representatives from Thailand were appointed as CIBJO board members. Mr. Prida Tiasuwan, the Founder Chairman of Pranda Jewelry, has been appointed as a Board of Director responsible for overseeing the operations of CIBJO. Meanwhile, Mr. Pitipong Tiasuwan, a group executive director of Pranda Jewelry, has been appointed as President of Section C, responsible for jewellery manufacturing, technology, and precious metals. Additionally, Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, the Director of GIT, has been appointed as a Board of Director, and Mr. Thanong Leelawattanasuk, Deputy Director of GIT, has been appointed as Vice President of the Gemmological Commission.
The appointment of representatives from Thailand to the board of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) will play a crucial role in advancing the standards for gems and jewelry, addressing and overcoming various challenges, including the integration of AI, conducting business with good governance, and fostering sustainability in the gem and jewelry industry, both in Thailand and on a global level. This will have a positive impact on the future growth of the industry in Thailand.
